Frontier Communities John P. Previti Memorial Foundation Donates to Colonies Holiday Miracles

Rancho Cucamonga – Colonies Holiday Miracles, an event that helps children in need and their families, is proud to announce that Frontier Communities John P. Previti Memorial Foundation has donated $5,000 toward helping financially struggling community members in the Inland Empire.

The John P. Previti Memorial Foundation is a grant-making organization that funds programs for at-risk youth, community building, and the fight against substance abuse.

The check was presented on March 31 at National Community Renaissance (CORE), based in Rancho Cucamonga, which is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit developers of affordable housing. CORE manages nearly 9,000 affordable, senior and market-rate units in California, Arkansas, Texas and Florida. Its social services partner, Hope through Housing Foundation, also refers children to the Colonies Holiday Miracles event

“By providing a grant to a well deserving and impactful non-profits such as CORE, we aim to make a lasting impact and help to create a better future for all,” said Martha Cuevas, a Foundation Board Member.

“Colonies Holiday Miracles began because local business owners wanted to help financially struggling families and give back to the Inland Empire. The generous donation from the Previti Memorial Foundation allows us to help even more unprivileged children and their families,” said Jeff Burum, cofounder of CORE, and co-managing partner of Colonies Partners, which co-sponsors the event.

Colonies Holiday Miracles is an annual holiday season event that gives free shopping sprees to underprivileged children from the Inland Empire. Since 2007, Holiday Miracles has invited nearly 2,000 children and their families, and each year, because of the growing generosity of community businesses, the list of children invited increases. This past year, businesses also joined to donate new cars to two struggling families as well as give financial assistance to other families.

Past sponsors have included Colonies Partners, Pacific Development Group, Mountain View Chevrolet in Upland, Larson O’Brien, Crebs Family Foundation, Frontier Communities, Kohl’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Target, Albertsons and Home Depot.

Children are also referred by House of Ruth, OPARC, Children’s Fund, Children’s Hope, House of Ruth, Upland Housing Authority, Pacific Lifeline, and Foothill Family Shelter.

Local service organizations, High School Key Clubs and members of the Upland police and fire departments as well as other safety personnel from the region annually volunteer to help at the event.
